The following training is offered by Competence Group members in association with the Federation of Drug & Alcohol Professionals (FDAP), Drink & Drugs News (DDN) and the Open University (OU). Senior managers Qualifications, competence & government targets - making it work ['On demand'] This one day workshop for senior managers will assist those responsible for workforce development in creating local systems for the development of the substance misuse workforce. It is run by Carole Sharma, former head of workforce at NTA and member of The Competence Group, and is delivered in association with DDN. Implementing a local workforce development strategy ['On demand'] A two day training package for senior managers of drug and alcohol services on implementing local workforce development strategies in line with national targets (including the Joint NTA/Home Office (DSD) Workforce Development Plan. Line managers Training programme for managers of drug & alcohol practitioners [Run quarterly] A training package for line managers comprising: "Understanding Management" - a distance learning course from the Open University (OU); the "Supervision, appraisal and DANOS" and "Performance management " workshops detailed below; and the "DANOS Demystified: Developing & Demonstrating Competence" e-learning course outlined above. Supervision, appraisal and DANOS ['On demand'] This one day workshop for line managers and HR directors covers supervision, appraisal and development of front line staff against DANOS and other national occupational standards. It is run by Tim Morrison and Fiona Hackland - both experienced trainers and experts in DANOS, and members of The Competence Group. This workshop is delivered in association with DDN.
